Okay, my grandson is above average. Seventeen months old and he hasn't destroyed it yet! It's a too-cute CD/Sing-Along Player, although all -he- does right now is put the microphone very close to his mouth and go, 'Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.........' I wholeheartedly vouch for this one. It's speckled-puppy cute and durable as well.

I like everything about this CD player except the fact that the voice volume cannot be adjusted. We went out and bought an AC adapter to save on batteries. My two girls (4 and 6) love the dual microphones and I'm sure will get lots of hours of pleasure from it!

I bought this for my 3 yr old granddaughter for Christmas. She loved it and was immediately able to operate it. She especially liked the microphones. Unfortunately, after about a week, the machine started cutting in and out alot and there was a buzz in the microphone connection. I contacted Growing Tree Toys by email and received an immediate response, return authorization, and a new unit mailed out the same day. The new player works perfectly and my granddaughter takes her "Carry Okey" with her everywhere.

Bought this toy for my 1 1/2 granddaughter. Thought was a little pricey until she kept dropping it and dragging it and it still worked fine.

i bought this toy for my 2 and a half year old. She sings all day and because it has 2 mics, her 4 year old brother joins in. They have dropped it several times, gotten the mics inside their mouths even, and no problem. Loved this toy, I recommend it 100%

And in today's world, that's about all there is left. So unless you intend to use completely commercially produced CDs with it, do not buy. (It's also extremely sensitive to jostling, despite its "anti-shock" system.)

Pros: This CD player is durable, withstands lots of bouncing and carrying around by little hands. The microphones turn off individually and the "Hold" feature (which locks the player in play or off mode) is helpful. Cons: The player does not play burned cds. There is no volume control for the microphones and the speaker is quite large. If you have a loud singer this is an incredible amplifier. I can hardly stand to be in the room with my 4 year old while he is using this toy. The volume control for the cds is great, but it does not control the microphones. I completely regret making this purchase. Too much money for an incredibly loud player.

I was very reluctant to purchase this toy after reading the review of the CD player not working, but my goddaughter requested the toy for Christmas. Guess what, the CD player did not work. On a positive note the CD player was delivered in a very timely manner. If you choose to ignore these reviews, I hope you get one that works.

This was a Christmas gift for my 4 year old son. It was a hit. He loves it. He and his older sister love to sing along with CDs. It seems to be quite sturdy because a month later, it is still working just fine. If it were too delicate, I think we would have broken it by now. We found an AC adapter for it, which makes it much more practical. It leaves me wondering why the manufacturer didn't just include one.

i got this for my boys (age 19 mos & 3 yrs), so they can not only listen to music, but press the buttons and make it work themselves. i wanted to get something durable and easy to use. so far, we really enjoy the cd player, but we've only had it for a few weeks. we have not used the karaoke function. my only complaints are: the volume doesn't turn down low enough -- it's blasting. and, it was fairly expensive... especially if it doesn't hold up to the punishment that kids can inflict.

We were given this as a gift for Christmas for my four month old daughter. She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the songs and LIGHTS... She will watch it as long as I am willing to push the buttons to keep it going... I also know it will last her a while because I have seen many of the other reviews where kids over a year are enjoying putting in and taking out the CD's etc. That said, I wish it had a continuous play of songs available, so I didn't have to push the buttons over and over, lol... The songs are cheesy, but I think most baby toy songs are cheesy. My husband and I thought it played the songs on the CD when you put them in, because he coincidentally put them in in the order they played the first time! haha, we later found out, it randomly plays songs... What are the odds of that?! Overall I really like it because there is not a whole lot that holds a 4 month old's attention for a long period of time and this does. +She will be able to play with it for quite some time!

My son loves this toy. He's 6 months and he just has to smack the thing to get it to make noise/music which makes him happy. He plays with it all by himself. The raison d'etre of my review, however, is that Fisher Price changed the lyrics to Jack & Jill! Instead of going up the hill to fetch a pail of water, they "go looking for some color" and then they find a yellow sun. WTF!?! Are the PC-nazis dictating changes to nursery rhymes? Falling down the hill was too violent?! All nursery rhymes and stories are violent! Humpty-dumpty, snow white, hansel and gretel to name a few. Ridiculous. I am aghast. Aghast!

I was expecting it to "play" the CD's, just like the old style record players played the records. My daughter does like this toy and it does teach her about putting the CD's in so she can take them out. However, it doesn't do as much as I expected. Oh well.
